Soulbound Token

A Soulbound Token (SBT) is a non-transferable on chain token that is permanently bound to a single wallet address. Unlike standard NFTs, an SBT cannot be sold, transferred, or moved to another address. It exists as a unique on chain identifier tied to the specific user who minted it.

On ZEUS Exchange, the SBT is the foundation of user identity within the protocol. It is required to participate in the ZEUS Points system, epoch reward distributions, and the referral program.

The SBT is implemented as a separate smart contract compatible with the ERC-721 standard and can be integrated with other protocol contracts in the future.

What the SBT does on ZEUS Exchange

User identity and account

The SBT serves as the user's on chain identity on the platform. All activity, points, trading history, and reward eligibility are linked to the wallet address that holds an active SBT. This makes each participant's record unique and verifiable on chain.

Epoch and rewards eligibility

Holding an SBT is a prerequisite for participating in ZEUS Points accrual and receiving a share of the periodic protocol fee distribution. Without an active SBT, a user can trade and provide liquidity but will not be eligible for epoch rewards.

Referral system

The SBT is the technical backbone of the referral program. Referral rewards are tracked and attributed through the SBT, ensuring accurate accounting of who referred whom and preventing multi account abuse.

Sybil and bot resistance

Because each SBT is non-transferable and tied to a single address, it makes it significantly harder to game the rewards system through multiple wallets or automated scripts. The protocol uses SBT verification as one of its primary anti-manipulation mechanisms.

Future governance

SBT holders are planned to receive access to governance and voting functions as the protocol matures. Details will be announced through official channels as this functionality is developed.

How to mint an SBT

The SBT can be minted directly from the SBT section of the ZEUS Exchange interface. Minting requires a one time fee of $10 in USD equivalent, paid on chain. Each wallet address can mint only one SBT.

Once minted, the SBT is permanently bound to that address and cannot be transferred or burned by the holder.

What the SBT is not

The ZEUS Exchange SBT is not a financial instrument, investment product, or security. It does not represent ownership in the protocol, does not entitle the holder to dividends, and has no monetary value in itself. Its sole purpose is to serve as an on chain activity identifier within the ZEUS ecosystem.

Users should be aware that the SBT is non-transferable by design. It cannot be sold on secondary markets and has no liquidity. Minting an SBT does not guarantee any specific level of rewards.
